How to Get Over Your Fear of Selling

I used to literally cringe when I heard the word sales..

My thoughts immediately went to a used car salesman selling me a hunk of junk that I don’t want and don’t need. It felt sleazy.

But here’s another way to look at sales.

Have you ever gone to a restaurant and loved it? Great food, great ambiance, great service. You tell your friends about it and that they have to try it. You just sold to them.

Have a great hairdresser that you recommend to everyone? Selling again.

We sell all the time.

It’s when we don’t believe in what we are selling that it becomes sleazy. But when you love a product or opportunity and believe in it 100 percent, you’ll want to share it with everyone.

The Most Important Thing When It Comes to Selling

In my experience, selling comes down to one thing:  Belief.

Do you believe in the products and the opportunity that you are sharing? Do you believe that these products truly help people?

And do you believe that this opportunity can change lives?

When you believe in the product and the opportunity you are representing,  you don’t need to sell anything! You are just sharing the excitement.

I joined a network marketing company and told no one about it for nearly a year! No one!

My mindset was so fixed against the idea of selling.

I didn’t want to bother my friends and family. I didn’t want them to feel obligated to buy from me. I didn’t want people running away when they saw me coming because I was “that girl”. . . the one who would try to sell them.

But then my perception changed.

Here is the thing . . . the products that I was representing worked!

I couldn’t believe my own results.

And this business has completely changed my life.

It has also changed the lives of my team in so many different ways.

Why on earth would I not want to share that with everyone??

How dare I keep that from people.

How I look at selling now.

You don’t know who may benefit from the products that you represent. You don’t know whose life your opportunity can change.

It is not your job to know that. Your job is to share your opportunity with everyone, because it can be life changing.

So, check your belief. If your belief is real, then you will want to share it to help others.

When you believe 100 percent in your business and your products, you will want to share about it constantly.

You owe it to your network to share with them.

And yes, that means selling to them.
