Green Beans Almandine

A simple yet delicious way to serve green beans. Even my kids love these!

1 pound fresh green beans

2 tsp olive oil

1/4 cup of vegetable broth or water

3 Tbsp slivered almonds

salt and pepper

In a skillet, add half of the olive oil and saute the green beans for a few minutes. Add broth and simmer until beans are desired firmness. Remove beans from the pan and set aside. Add remaining oil to the pan and when heated, add the almonds. Sauce the almonds until slightly browned. Add the beans back in and season with salt and pepper to taste.
